My Bucket List aka Living List

I decided to walk the talk and create my bucket list. You’ll remember that in my last blog post on how to travel without leaving your house, one of the things I talked about was creating a bucket list.

What’s a Bucket List?

A Bucket list is a list of places to visit and things to do before die you leave this world. A few people have coined other terms such as a “Best Life List” or a “Living list” and this just means a list of things to do while you’re alive. Personally, I like the term “living list” better as it sounds less final.

Another reason I prefer to call my list a living list is it’s less static. In other words, the list is alive hence it can be changed or switched as I evolve.

My living list is very diverse; some are career-related, others are adventure inspired, some would be ticked off in the near future, and others don’t have a foreseeable completion date. I like that it’s diverse and I will definitely be expanding it in the future.

Take a look at my living list and let me know if any of things on my list match the things on yours:

Visit all 7 Natural wonders of the world: Waterfalls, Pyramids, Monuments, these are a few of my favourite things.

Go on a street food tour with Mark Wiens in Bangkok, Thailand

Spend a night directly under the Aurora Borealis – can be seen in Alaska, Canada, Iceland, Greenland, Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Do an East African tour – Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya

Travel non-stop for 3 months

Go skinny-dipping

Take a hot-air balloon ride

Ride on the Oriental express

Byline in a top travel journal, preferably in print

See all the UNESCO heritage sites in West Africa

Mentor a younger coworker to achieve greatness in her career

Learn a new work-related skill each year

Go skydiving

Hike the Kilimanjaro

Be in the audience for Ellen or Trevor Noah’s show

Adopt a rescue animal

Bungee-jumping. Because, why not?

Create content that goes viral

See an original Broadway musical

Become fluent in French – this is underway

Speak at an industry conference or event

Attend a Tour de France – grew up watching this on TV.

Visit Central Perk, the famous coffee shop from the Friends TV show.

Explore 5 coastal towns on the French Riviera

Travel solo someday

Learn to ride a horse

Be part of a carnival float

Become a pescatarian

Hire 5 employees for my business

Buy my own home

That’s it. My Living List. Tell me, what’s on your list?

Share so others can learn too!

Living list… I like this coinage better!
Traveling non-stop for three months seems like it would be exciting to watch or follow through someone else’s eyes because I’m such a risk-averse person. Lol!
I definitely want to tour East Africa and speak at a conference! And seeing an original broadway musical is definitely on my list!!!
